Dylan has been working in the health and fitness industry since 2009 — long enough to have seen every version of what personal training can be, and to have clear opinions about what it should be.
His career took him from Melbourne to Florida in 2017, where he worked with major league baseball players and spent time learning from some of the best rehabilitation and performance coaches in the world. That experience shaped how he thinks about training — not just as exercise, but as a system that has to work for the whole person.
In 2020, he founded State of Fitness with a specific intent: to build a studio where clients are actually known, where programming is genuinely individualised, and where the standard of coaching is high enough that results follow naturally.
What drives Dylan as an operator isn’t just the coaching — it’s everything around it. Staff care, team culture, systems, and the tools that let coaches do their best work. State of Fitness has exceptional staff retention and a team that is genuinely invested in their clients. That doesn’t happen by accident — it’s the result of treating the business as a place worth caring about.
Outside the gym, Dylan is a husband and father — which probably explains the 5:45am starts.
