Alwyn’s athletic record is the real thing: a 10-time open men’s Australian national champion in the triple jump, with multiple junior titles along the way. He represented Australia internationally — a bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, fifth at the 2004 World Junior Championships, and a personal best of 16.83m. He spent his career understanding what it takes to perform at the highest level — and, more importantly, how to translate that into results for everyday clients.
Originally from Adelaide, Alwyn studied industrial design there — earning a Bachelor of Industrial Design (University of Adelaide, 2009) while training and competing as an athlete — before moving to Melbourne and following movement into coaching, completing a degree in exercise and sports science at Victoria University in 2014. He brings a level of precision to movement and performance coaching that comes from years of training himself to elite standard: he knows what proper preparation looks like, what good technique feels like, and what separates consistent progress from spinning wheels.
What surprises clients who train with Alwyn is that he’s the opposite of the stereotypical gym person: warm, welcoming, and genuinely good company, with a sharp, curious mind that comes through in how he coaches. He takes the work seriously without taking himself too seriously — and brings an unusually thoughtful read on both the training and the people doing it.
Whether you’re a corporate professional looking to build strength or someone who wants to move better for the long term, Alwyn brings the same attention to detail he applied to his own athletic career.
